DC Students Sing National Anthem for CO Rockies

Friday, September 29th was a glorious evening at Coors Field. The coolness of fall made for an invigorating backdrop for the more than 135 students singing the National Anthem for the Colorado Rockies. Under the direction of music and choir leaders, Jen Last and Mark Wurst, Denver Christian’s angelic voices filled the ballpark.

Hundreds of Denver Christian families, alumni and friends turned out in support of our students enjoying the game, and the fireworks. The ballpark was packed by the end of the night with nearly 50,000 fans in the crowd!

We were excited to see Mr. Schemper at Coors Field. If you frequent Rockies’ games, you can find Mr. Schemper working the gates and as a row usher. So fun!!

Todd Lanting, Denver Christian CEO and Mark Wurst, music teacher, along with Rich Schemper, former longtime elementary school principal at Coors Field for the Rockies Game.

Our students nervously and confidently walked out onto the field….making sure not to step on the foul line (bad luck to do so). With smiles on their faces and love of God and country in their hearts, they made us all proud.

DC Students looked amazing and sounded pitch perfect singing the National Anthem as the Rockies clinched the Wildcard spot at Coors Field.
