Mutual Commitments to Student Success: A Partnership with Denver Christian School

Home / Admissions / Mutual Commitments to Student Success: A Partnership with Denver Christian School

The word “partnership” is used a lot in education, especially among private schools. Perhaps you’ve seen it several times as you’ve reviewed websites and brochures for Christian schools in the Denver area. But have you seen it defined? What exactly does that mean?

At Denver Christian School, we want to be clear about what we mean when we say “partnership.” We want families considering Denver Christian School to know how we work together with parents and students toward common goals. That’s why we’ve created the Portrait of a Partnership.

Before we explore the attributes of a successful educational partnership, let’s take a moment to clarify who we’re not for:

  1. Families that don’t value Christian education.
  2. Students who have been dismissed from other schools.
  3. Parents who expect DC to be the church.
  4. Parents and students who expect to never experience conflict.

We believe that it’s better to be on the same page early than to have to get on the same page once a family is already enrolled.

So, what does a successful educational partnership at DC look like? Our Portrait of a Partnership outlines the eight mutual commitments between the home and school.

Grace-Filled Partnership

The family’s commitment:

Parents who approach interactions with grace, especially during challenging situations, create a positive atmosphere at DC. This allows for constructive dialogue, helps resolve issues, and sets a valuable example for students — teaching them the importance of empathy, collaboration, and poise.

Denver Christian’s commitment:

  • Open communication between the home and school
  • Opportunities to voice your thoughts and perspectives
  • A willingness to listen and understand
  • A desire to find solutions that work for your child and your family

Christian Commitment

The family’s commitment:

We partner with families in which at least one parent is a professing Christian, is involved in a local church community, and desires for their children to receive a Christian education. At DC, we believe that the family’s commitment to a biblical worldview positions us to build on the values their children learn at home and the truths they hear at church.

Denver Christian’s commitment:

  • A biblical worldview integrated into every subject, class, program, and event
  • Faculty and staff who are committed Christians, encouraging students to find their place in God’s story
  • Modeling the Fruit of the Spirit to students

“Christian education at DC is invaluable. Our children thrive with biblical direction in good times and in bad. The chapel provides a platform for our children to worship and learn more about their faith. It places them on a firm foundation of what God commands us to do, and we cannot be more grateful for this!”

Whole-Family Enrollment

The family’s commitment:

Denver Christian School is a thriving, joyful community of families of all shapes and sizes. They value our unique approach to student education and, unless there are specific learning needs we cannot address, choose to enroll all their children at DC. We believe that committing to a single educational environment strengthens bonds between siblings, allows families to develop a deeper connection with our school’s values, and fosters a stronger sense of community and belonging for the entire family. By embracing whole-family enrollment, you’re not just choosing a school — you’re joining a supportive and engaged community that values holistic family involvement in Christian education.

Denver Christian’s commitment:

  • Continuity of the learning model across each Age-and-Stage®
  • Opportunities for sibling interaction at school
  • Providing multi-child discounts for families with three or more children enrolled

Academic Readiness

The family’s commitment:

At DC, we welcome families who are willing to encourage children to engage, learn, and manage the given academic workload. Students who are well-supported by their families bring a dynamic energy to our school and thrive in our challenging yet supportive academic environment. We see them embrace opportunities to grow cognitively, creatively, physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and personally.

Denver Christian’s commitment:

  • PreK-12 education with college in mind
  • Challenging higher-level learners through advanced opportunities for growth
  • Cultivating God-given gifts and talents
  • Motivating students to try new things

“We chose Denver Christian for many reasons — for its high academic standards and focused curriculum, an adherence to foundational Christian principles, and its outstanding teaching staff.”

– Jackie, DC Parent

Whole-Child Education

The family’s commitment:

Families value and support Denver Christian’s approach to educating a student: the Six Spheres of Learning. This whole-child model encompasses cognitive, creative, spiritual, physical, social/emotional, and personal growth.

Denver Christian’s commitment:

  • Engaging campus environment and facilities
  • Supportive teachers
  • Curriculum and activities that foster every area of development

Community Contribution

The family’s commitment:

We believe that family involvement is the heartbeat of DC’s vibrant culture. To that end, we encourage parents and students to engage in and contribute to the DC community. Whether through volunteering, participating in school events, or supporting fellow families, your involvement can enhance the DC culture.

Denver Christian’s commitment:

  • Offering a wide range of opportunities for parents and students to get involved
  • Fostering a positive, supportive culture
  • Evaluating program effectiveness on a regular basis

“The DC community is strong and mighty. There are so many families with like-minded beliefs, creating a culture of everyone going in the same direction and on the same path together. Everyone is kind, welcoming, and happy to be at this wonderful school!”

– Lindsay G., DC Parent

Financial Commitment

The family’s commitment:

At Denver Christian School, we partner with families who view Christian education as one of the greatest investments they can make in their children. We understand that affording private Christian education can be financially challenging for some families. While we offer various financial aid options, DC does not provide full scholarships. Our community consists of families from diverse economic backgrounds who are committed to prioritizing Christian education in their monthly budgets and often adjust their lifestyles accordingly.

Denver Christian’s commitment:

  • Foundational commitment to Christian values and principles
  • High-quality programs and facilities
  • Expert faculty and staff devoted to continuous improvement
  • Careful stewardship of the school’s resources
  • Accessibility to financial aid options for eligible families
