Home / Academics / Elementary School

From kindergarten to fifth grade, children have a natural zeal for learning. We make the most of this exciting time with an engaging hands-on curriculum that provides solid academic and spiritual foundations. Small class sizes allow our teachers to know their students exceptionally well, including their unique learning styles and how to best equip them for success.

Denver Christian School is a close-knit community. Elementary-age students enjoy a safe and nurturing environment that feels like a second home. We invite you to schedule a visit and see it for yourself!

Why Do Parents Choose DCS for Elementary School?

Solid Foundations in Reading & Math
A strong phonics-based curriculum paired with trade book level reading helps students develop fluency and fosters a genuine love for reading and writing. In math, they use manipulatives and other tools to become efficient problem solvers.

Faith Formation
Each subject is taught from a biblical perspective, which helps students understand God’s word and how it is relevant in every area of their lives. Elementary students develop strong Christian values as they learn to use their gifts to serve God and others.

21st Century Learning
Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum in an age-appropriate way. Students become proficient with computers, utilize interactive white boards in the classroom, and enjoy other experiential learning tools and activities.

Social-Emotional Development
We use the Sanford Harmony curriculum presented by our school counselors to foster social/emotional development. This program helps students develop skills such as communication, collaboration, and compassion for others.

Enriching Experiences
Elementary students have enrichment classes on a weekly basis, including art, music, physical education, library, and computers. They participate in many special performances, enjoy themed events, field trips, and can even participate in after school interest-based clubs, such as:

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Book Club
  • Drama
  • Ukulele camps
  • Fencing
  • Robotics
  • Snapology

Rumble Club

Working parents love our after-school care program, which provides a safe and fun place for their children to stay for late afternoons.

  • Afternoon Care Hours 3:15 – 5:30 p.m
