Denver Christian School is excited to welcome Josh Moore as our new Executive Chef, bringing his rich culinary experience and passion for community to our growing food program. Josh’s journey to becoming an executive chef is diverse. Originally from Magnolia, Arkansas, he began his studies in vocal performance and advertising at Ouachita Baptist University. His true culinary journey began when he attended The French Culinary Institute in New York City, earning a diploma in Classic Culinary Arts and working alongside some of the city’s most prestigious chefs.
Josh has served as an Executive Chef in both New York City and Denver, and now he is eager to bring his expertise to DC. His role as Executive Chef will not only focus on creating delicious, nutritious meals but will also help shape the vision for the school’s growing food program, DC Dining. As Josh himself shares, “I am truly honored to be joining the team here at Denver Christian, and I am looking forward to growing the culinary vision at the school as it aligns with the overall health and growth of the students and faculty.”
Growing up years
Growing up as a preacher’s kid, Josh had the unique experience of moving across the U.S. and even spending time in Germany. He credits this exposure to different cultures and environments as formative in shaping his worldview. Today, he lives in Denver with his wife of 22 years, Melody, and their two sons, Matthew and Joseph. Matthew is a drummer studying percussion with dreams of attending Juilliard, while Joseph is passionate about sports. The family enjoys attending Denver Presbyterian Church and spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains or playing tennis.
Josh’s love for community and his culinary skills make him a perfect fit for DC’s vision of supporting the health and well-being of our students. We are thrilled to have Josh join the DC community and are looking forward to see how he will help enrich our food program and be a blessing to our community. Welcome, Chef Josh!
