In education, the arrival of July often passes quietly. For students, families, and teachers, it marks the midpoint of summer vacation—a time of rest and renewal. For administrators and year-round staff, however, it signals a shift from wrapping up the previous school year to fully preparing for the one ahead. For some, it also brings a fresh chapter—opportunities to step into new roles and new communities. That has been my experience this summer, as I officially began my tenure as Head of School at Denver Christian.
I step into this role with joyful gratitude to God and the Denver Christian community. This vibrant network of educators, families, and churches fosters an environment where students are encouraged to explore God’s world, celebrated as unique reflections of His image, and grow in their understanding of His calling for their lives.
This week, I will be with our leadership team in the mountains for our annual four-day summit. It is a valuable time to reflect on Denver Christian’s strengths and opportunities, plan for the upcoming school year, and seek God’s guidance for the future. As we enter this time of reflection and vision-setting, we would greatly appreciate your prayers. Please pray for unity as we welcome and integrate new team members, including me. Pray for clarity as we consider feedback and identify ways to move Denver Christian forward. And, above all, pray for humility as we continue to discern God’s direction for our school.
I am filled with anticipation as we begin this next chapter in God’s story for Denver Christian. God is certainly present and moving us toward an exciting future, as he has done so many times over the past century in DC’s history. I look forward to journeying with you as this unfolds in the weeks, months, and years ahead, and witnessing our children thrive and grow into tomorrow’s Christian leaders in the world. Until then, my prayer for your family is that you will be able to enjoy the slower rhythms of summer and treasure these moments with your children.
with gratitude,
