As we head into the Thanksgiving break, I want to offer my deepest gratitude for you, the Denver Christian community. The ways different groups come together throughout the year to support this community are remarkable. From boosters, to our PA, to carline drivers, to ThunderDads, to PAC patrons, to Friday night lights fans, to field trip chaperones, to room parents, to front desk volunteers, to career interviewers, this community brings so much in service of our vision of an Accessible, World-Class, Whole Child Christian education. I count it a privilege to be a part of Denver Christian as a parent and as a professional.
The campus will be bustling as we return from Thanksgiving break, packing in a lot of events and learning in three short weeks that mark the end of our first semester. Our return next Monday also begins the Advent season, a time that marks both the new year for the church calendar and our anticipation of Christ’s coming to earth in human form. As such, it feels like a fitting season to reflect on the whole-child part of Denver Christian’s vision.
So, beginning on Monday, December 1st, I will be hosting a 24-day Advent podcast that explores our six spheres of learning that make up our whole-child vision in light of the Christian story of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. Six spheres, four days for each sphere to look at a different part of God’s story, 24 episodes total.
This is an experiment. But one that I trust will bring opportunities for awareness and conversation around our spheres of learning into your families. In turn, my prayer is that these reflections allow you to feel more equipped in your partnership with DC’s learning experiences. If you want to listen in and be a part of it, you will need to register here to access each of the 24 reflections as they become available.
