From Michael’s Desk

Head of School

This past week, our elementary school specials celebrated a week of “time travel” by exploring both the past and the future. They examined examples of technology, stories, teamwork, and more during chapel and in their specials. If you have an elementary school student, ask them about the old relic of a “floppy disk”.

However, this week, Denver Christian is also kicking off its planning for the future school year at DC, too. This past Thursday night, we held an Encounter event for DC’s rising 9th graders and families considering joining our high school next fall.  We had well over 100 students and parents in attendance, learning about the robust academic offerings, including new advanced math and science tracks, as well as new APs, such as AP Seminar and AP Research. They also learned about our enhanced co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including our expansion of tennis into the high school athletics offering next year.

The next day, our applications for PreK-12 for the 2026-2027 school year went live

If you know a family that would be a great fit for our community, please share this link with them: https://www.denverchristian.org/admissions/, or invite them to one of our preview nights on Monday, November 3rd, Wednesday, January 28th, or Monday, March 2nd, from 6:30-8:30 pm.  Or better yet, have them reach out to our admissions office to schedule a tour of our campus so they can see firsthand the thunderous energy in the Denver Christian classrooms and hallways.

This week, we also shared the news with our community that Dr. Tyler Amindon, long-time MS principal, will be retiring at the end of the school year.  In the coming weeks, I will share more with our community about the search process for our next middle school leader.  We also look forward to celebrating Dr. A’s Denver Christian legacy in the coming months.

Coming back from our time travel to next year, the near future holds fall break. And I pray you and your family have a fantastic one.  In these days off, take a moment to slow down and engage your child in conversations about what they have been learning this fall and how they feel they have grown as a student and as image bearers of God.  The time God has gifted us with our children travels quickly – so whatever season you find yourself in with your children today, relish the present moment.

I am grateful for your continued partnership.
