DC Cross Country is going to state!

It’s an exciting week for Denver Christian Athletics! This weekend, our girls and boys cross country teams will be heading to state! We are so proud of the work that they have put into this season. While the whole season has been full of growth on individual and team levels, two particular meets this month showcased just how far our cross country program has come this year.

On October 14th, our team participated in a meet at Johnstown Reservoir. The meet went fantastic and ended with our girls team as the runner up! They tied for conference champions with our top four runners, but lost the tiebreaker with our fifth runner. Even though our boys didn’t score as a team, they had some really good runs as well. Several runners had personal records at this meet.

Then, our team competed in regionals at Expo park on October 21st. Every single girl got a new personal record and most of the boys did as well. Our girls team placed 2nd and the boys team placed 5th, meaning that both of us qualified for state on the 30th! Also, our top five boys all ran under 20 minutes, which was a huge accomplishment. The team celebrated the meet with some pizza and froyo afterward.

We could not be more excited for our girls AND boys teams competing in state this weekend. To stay up to date on their experience, be sure to visit our athletics hub and follow Roll DC Thunder on Twitter or Instagram!
