Stepping into my DC role this year, I am full of gratitude. And doing so, I’ve seen clearly that a DC education is built on two enduring commitments: a strong, Christ-centered community and the intentional preparation of students to engage thoughtfully with God’s world. These distinctives have stood the test of time for our school over the past century and are what enable Denver Christian to do education differently in this moment of God’s story.
Last week, I shared a building update (if you missed it, you can find it here) that will allow Denver Christian to grow in all divisions of the school. As we welcome more families into our community, we are committed to doing so in ways that continue to advance the mission that has enabled generations of alumni to engage their world effectively with Christ’s love.
Our community is distinct in the Denver metro education landscape because of our commitment to (1) a distinctively Christian, covenant school, (2) a whole-family experience, (3) an integrated partnership between home, school, and church, and (4) a curiosity that holds differing Christian perspectives together in unity. These elements of our community allow us to craft a student experience where:
- Students are seen, known, and loved by multiple adults.
- Whole-child education is the pathway to a world-class education.
- The 14-year student journey is connected, scaffolded, and distinct experiences.
- Graduates are prepared to become well-rounded adults who are engaging their world.
If you are interested in exploring how these distinctives are playing out at DC today, I’d like to invite you to one or more small-group conversations I am hosting this spring. On select Tuesdays, right after morning carline and just before afternoon pickup, we will be meeting around one of three repeating topics:
- Bearing God’s Image: being human in a technologically fast-paced and AI world
- The Call to Whole Child and World-Class Education
- Building a school community that is distinctly together: holding many perspectives in one Christ-centered mission.
