From Michael’s Desk

Head of School

Childhood summers hold a unique kind of magic—a time to slow down, explore, and experience the rhythms of God’s creation more intentionally. But as the summer begins to wind down, many of our students find themselves excitedly looking ahead to the new school year, yet reluctant to let go of the relaxed pace and freedom that summer brings.

If this resonates with your child—or even with you—I encourage you to take advantage of the upcoming Denver Christian summer social events. These gatherings are excellent ways to ease the transition, reconnect with familiar faces, and welcome new families into our community. This Tuesday, July 22nd, K-5 families will meet at Clement Park, and next Tuesday, July 29th, middle and high school families will gather at Bear Creek Park. I’d love the opportunity to say hello to you and your family if you’re able to attend.

Meanwhile, on campus, preparations for the upcoming school year are in full swing.

Our students are actively engaged in a variety of camps and activities, honing their skills for the year ahead. This week, I had the privilege of sharing a devotion with our middle and high school DC Summer Performance group. Despite the rainy morning, the athletes were hard at work, preparing for their upcoming seasons and practicing skills for lifelong physical wellness.

I also had the chance this week to connect with our Parents’ Association Board. Their passion and commitment to serving our school community is inspiring. They are busy planning some exciting family events and serving our classrooms and staff for the year ahead. If you’re looking for a way to get involved as a parent, I highly encourage you to attend one of their monthly meetings this fall. It’s a fantastic entry point to learn how to connect with the school and engage with other parents in the joys and challenges of raising children to walk with God for a lifetime.

On the facilities front, there’s a lot of exciting progress happening. Construction is underway in our main building to accommodate our expanded Kindergarten section this fall, along with improvements to the third floor and the addition of a new locker room space. Design plans for the new high school building are advancing, and we’re thrilled about the opportunities this space will open up for our future. Our facilities team is making sure every space is ready for our community to tackle another year.

All of this activity is leading us toward the start of the 2025-2026 school year. I look forward to being with you to officially kick off the year at convocation on Thursday, August 14th.
