DC Summer Camps for Elementary – High School- 2022
Denver Christian offers a variety of summer camps including art, musical theater, and athletics for students in all grades. We offer a combination of full and half-day camps, students who register for both the morning and afternoon sessions will have a supervised lunch break.
Summer Camps are open to all: School year enrollment at Denver Christian is not required.
Did you know?: All of the camps in June are flexible! Register for just one half-day subject OR register for two subjects and your campers will have a supervised lunch break and be with us at camp from 9 am -3 pm. Most weeks offer a discount for full-day participation.
Elementary Age Camps
Camp Encanto

Campers will bring the magic to life in this 1-week, full-day ENCANTO Summer Camp!
Campers will grow their performance skills by learning songs and dances from the new hit Disney film, ENCANTO. They will also construct and tinker in our MakersSpace, creating their very own magical Casita. Of course, we will try our best to not talk about Bruno!
Students do not need to have seen this film in order to enjoy and learn at this camp.

Art Exploration

Calling all Budding Artists!
Campers will spend the week exploring the beauty of the natural world, using it as inspiration to create visual art. Campers will have the opportunity to try out several different mediums and discover new creative outlets including painting, collage, recycled art, and so much more.
Campers will spend time outdoors, weather permitting, in addition to time in the classroom.
Musical S.T.E.M.

Come discover the harmony between Music and Science!!!
In this camp, students will discover and explore common themes found in music and science like vibration, frequency, patterns, dissonance, bending sound, and more through hands-on experiments and musical activities. Dancing salt, quicksand, banana piano, PVC panpipe, piano projects, and more!

Vanta (www.vantaleagues.com) is a youth esports development program with expert coaching for kids (roughly ages 8-15). Our team-based learning platform provides a structured and safe community for youth to learn skills that lead to college scholarships and build meaningful friendships.
Our program curriculums include various elements to develop player potential in the games they play. Developed by former professional athletes, elite coaches, and education experts/school administrators, our curriculum is focused on development on-and-off the screen, and encompasses several elements including:
- In-game skill development catered to the skill level of the players
- Health and wellness activities to instill healthy habits in the players
- Social-Emotional Learning skill development via cooperative learning activities

Take center stage this summer!
In this two-week musical intensive camp, students will be immersed in every aspect of theatrical production including performance, stagecraft, technical theater, vocal techniques, and character development.
This camp will culminate with a full-length and fully-produced musical on June 17h at 3 pm for friends and family.

Rocket League & Game Design

Ukulele Music Camp

Ready to learn the ukulele? In this camp, students will learn to play chords, several easy beginner-level songs, explore different strumming patterns, and even try their hand at composing their own pop song. Ukuleles will be provided during the camp, but students are encouraged to bring their own. Students can also bring Chromebooks or iPads if owned, as there will be instruction on how to use Garage Band and SoundTrap.
There will be a short group performance of the songs learned during the camp for parents and grandparents on Friday at 11:30.

DCHS 2022 Summer Classes (for HS credit)
High school students may take summer courses for credit. Students are expected to attend every instruction day in order to earn credit. Details for each class are listed below. CLICK HERE to register for 2022 Summer Classes.

Credit: Fine Arts Elective (no prerequisites)
Course Description: In this two week musical intensive camp, students will be immersed in every aspect of a musical theater production, including acting, stagecraft, technical theater, vocal techniques, performance, and choreography. Into the Woods is a musical with music and lyrics by musical great, Stephen Sondheim, who recently died in 2021. The musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales.
Dates: June 13 – 17 (only 1 week)
Times: 9:00am – 1:00pm

Course Description: This required PE course explores what it means to Glory God through the care of our bodies and in our approach to athletics as a whole. Course Description: This course is an exploration of creative writing skills in poetry, memoir, and short story. Students reflect on their life experiences, analyze poetry and novels, and create a portfolio of their own written work.
Online courses are all asynchronous (work at your own pace). They start on June 6 and end on August 12. Each course has approximately 10 modules (weeks), that students can complete at their own pace, but if students complete one module a week, they will stay on track.

Course Description: Art Fundamentals investigates the basic design elements in two-dimensional works. Students experience challenging, hands–on opportunities to complete assignments using a variety of art materials. Students identify their personal gifts and talents, and develop confidence in their abilities to explore future opportunities in the visual arts.

Course Description: Letters: An Epistles Study applies a literary approach to the epistles of the New Testament for the purpose of growing one’s ability to read and understand the letters. When applied properly, this approach lends itself to a wiser reading of complex biblical texts so that students may grow in their ability to know, love, and apply Scripture.

Guidelines and Information for All Activities
- Full payment is due upon registration. No refunds will be given within two weeks of the program’s start date. A $30 cancellation fee will be withheld from all refunds. All activities are weather/conditions permitting.
- Program sizes are limited. Register early to secure a spot. Denver Christian School reserves the right to cancel/change activities if minimum enrollment is not met.
- If you are registered for two half-day programs, your campers will have a supervised lunch period between sessions.
- All students should come equipped with their own water, sunscreen, appropriate clothing, and necessary equipment.
- Allergies, medical conditions, and disabilities should be noted upon registration to ensure the camp is properly staffed and your child receives the best quality experience.
Summer Performance – Nutrition Update
This summer those who sign up for Summer Performance can add a Nutrition and Supplement Plan. This plan will provide key nutrients at critical intake windows designed and prepared by a licensed chef and nutritionist ensuring the highest quality product for our students. Students will get a small pre workout protein packed snack and then a post workout protein smoothie. This will be $175 for the whole of the summer, but needs to be ordered on our FACTS link below. We are excited about the growth and opportunity with this and want to encourage all our participants to take advantage of this, with that being said we don’t want cost to prohibit any student from this program so please contact coach Quinn so we can figure out how to provide this opportunity to all of our students!
