Student Life: What’s New for ’21-22!

School’s Starting This Week!

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome students back into our halls! Every year we grow and adapt, and we’re excited to introduce some new programming for the 2021/2022 school year! Our mission is to engage the whole-child every day in every way, and our before and after-care program as well as clubs are an important part of our student life.

Our staff have been pouring their effort into some fantastic programming for our students’ experiences outside of the classroom here at Denver Christian:

Before & After Care: New Programming & Weekly Themes

Tiana Turner

This year we welcomed Tiana Turner onto our team as our new before and after-care director. This licensed program has been offering a supervised and fun environment for students for years, and this year, we are excited to begin offering weekly themes!

Our vision is to engage each child’s imagination, creativity, and excitement each day, and starting this fall, each week will feature an exciting new theme which is incorporated into each part of the day. For example, during pirate & mermaid week students might experience nautical-themed snacks, crew challenges, games, seafaring sensory play, buccaneer and STEM-infused art projects, and more!

This fall’s schedule includes a variety of exciting themes: Luau, Through the Wardrobe, Build Your Own Escape Room, Prehistoric Lands, etc!

Before and after care is available to Denver Christian students grades preK-5. To learn more about our new themes and to learn more about before & after care programming, please visit our Before & After Care page!

Clubs & Activities: New Health & Wellness Programming

Jordan Quinn

Denver Christian’s Clubs & Activities have grown and expanded over the years. From elementary to high school, we offer a variety of experiences designed to engage the whole child: robotics, spelling bee, praise and worship, drama performances, student council, etc.

This year, we are planning to introduce The Colorado Club to highlight the beautiful creation of our state. Throughout the fall, winter, and spring, Colorado offers amazing activities to take advantage of: hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and rock climbing!

We are looking for community sponsors, so if your family is interested in partnering with us for one of these activities, please reach out to our new Wellness and Performance Coordinator, Jordan Quinn! We can’t wait to make The Colorado Club a reality for our families!

We are also excited to offer Morning Performance training at 7:00AM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. This is available for all 7th-12th grade students regardless of fitness levels or sports teams.

We hope that you are excited as we are for the back to school season. Our desire is for each child in our community to find a place where they belong and can bloom in each area of their lives.
