John served as a police officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department for 30 years - 2 years as a School Resource Officer, 26 years on a full-time SWAT team as a tactical operator and as a dual-purpose canine handler. John was awarded the Purple Heart, the Medal of Honor, the Medal of Valor, and two Distinguished Service Awards.
