Primary Role at DC: High School - Math
Additional Roles at DC: Dirk Visser joins our high school faculty teaching Math including Algebra 2, Geometry, and PreCalculus. He has taught all levels of math in public high schools in Colorado. Most recently, Mr. Visser spent the past 18 years at Columbine High School where he chaired the math department and led the Geometry team. He has also coached football, cross country, and girls lacrosse.
Year started at Denver Christian: 2017-2018
Education/Degrees Held: Mr. Visser graduated from the University Northern Colorado with a BA in Mathematics and Chapman University with a MA in Educational Administration.
Mr. Visser has been associated with Denver Christian for a long time in a lot of "round about" ways. He had some relatives attend in the past. "I suppose the reason for wanting to teach at DC stems from the fact that it will allow me to relate to kids in a much more meaningful way than the public school setting allows. Selfishly, having Christ at the center of what I am doing for a living is going to be refreshing! How cool is it to be able to talk about God with kids!" What are your favorite hobbies and/or ways to spend your time? I enjoy reading action/adventure novels as well as historical fiction and nonfiction books about the wars of history. I like to camp and fish but don't spend nearly enough time doing those. My wife, Peige, and I enjoy do-it-yourself projects around the house and visiting our kids.
