My wife Hannah and I moved to Colorado in the fall of 2015, as I began pursuing my Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary and working with the student ministry at South Fellowship Church. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and then graduated college from Crown College in Minnesota with a degree in Bible and Theology. I graduated from Denver Seminary with my Master’s in December of 2018. Hannah is a 4th grade teacher in JeffCo and also helps coach Middle School Volleyball here at DC. I am passionate about teaching God's Word and encouraging students on their journey. What made you choose to join Denver Christian? I began as a coach at DC in October of 2016 while I was in Grad School. From the start, I have felt at home here. This community is unique and the people are very welcoming. I have loved working with students and investing in their lives while being a paraeducator and MS Bible teacher this year at DC. When the opportunity opened for me to expand my teaching in Bible here, I was thrilled. Getting the chance to walk alongside these students on a daily basis is a real blessing. The students and staff encourage, challenge, and motivate me in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I am excited to be a part of all that God is doing in and through DC! What new classroom programs/ideas do you look forward to bringing to DCS? Teaching and studying God’s Word is a real passion of mine. I love journeying with students and helping them understand the Bible. I am passionate about the Gospel and how we see the grand narrative of Scripture unfold from Genesis to Revelation. I want students to have the opportunity to think deeply, to wrestle with tough issues, to articulate what they believe, to discuss with their classmates, and be grounded in truth. My hope is that their faith grows stronger as they begin to develop a Christian worldview, to understand the hope we have in Jesus, and to see how our relationship with him impacts everything we do. Middle School is a very formational time and I am grateful for the chance to teach them here at DC. What are some of your hobbies or favorite ways to spend time? I love living here in Colorado. My wife and I enjoy spending time outdoors in the incredible mountains and beautiful trails around the Denver area. We also cherish time with our family and 13 nieces and nephews who all live in Omaha, Nebraska. I love being active, reading a good book, coaching high school basketball here at Denver Christian, and having game nights with friends. Every Saturday in the fall, you will find me cheering on my Nebraska Cornhuskers Football team. Hannah and I love Mexican food. We just became first time parents to our son, Cooper (born May 31, 2019)!
