We encourage your student to use his or her God-given gifts in the fine arts to glorify Christ as Lord and Savior. Well-known for our programs in the visual, performing, and literary arts, Denver Christian Schools challenges and enables your child to pursue excellence in vocal music, instrumental music, the visual arts, drama and creative writing.
Vocal Music
Studying music at Denver Christian Schools helps your child develop confidence, technical skill, independence, reading and aural skills, and knowledge of music history, theory, and literature. The vocal music programs at Denver Christian Schools invite all musicians to bring beauty to the world and to glorify God through sound.

Instrumental Music
Denver Christian Schools offers your child a robust band program. All students in grades 5th through 8th are invited to participate in grade-level bands (5th and 6th, 7th and 8th) which perform at least twice each year.
At the high school level, all band students are in Symphonic Band, which performs several concerts each year. From the Symphonic Band comes the instrumentation and personnel for Jazz Band and Pep Band. Bands perform for most home athletic events and state championship bracket games. Bands also perform for church and community activities. Symphonic Band takes a major trip every other year basis, and band members may also try out for All State Band, All State Orchestra, All State Jazz Band, and college honor bands.
Denver Christian High School Symphonic Band is noted for its consistently well-balanced instrumentation, something that is rarely accomplished in a school of our size. Almost one-fifth of our student body is involved in our band program.
Drama
As one of the fine arts, drama is immediately associated with its final product: the performance. But at Denver Christian Schools, we believe that what can be seen when the curtain rises is only part of a much bigger picture. Drama is a powerful, brain-compatible learning medium, through which students are exposed to a wide range of learning opportunities in literature, history, and human relationships. Studying drama helps your child develop confidence, vocal delivery skills, and physical poise, all of which are beneficial wherever his or her future points. Preparing a play also offers opportunities to learn teamwork, patience, time management, and how to rise to a challenge. And at Denver Christian, all of this is accomplished in an atmosphere of Christ-honoring creativity, mutual support and fun!

Visual Arts
At Denver Christian Schools, the role of faith in work as an artist emerges from who we believe God made us—that is, from the call He places on our lives and the commitment He demands of each of us. Faith is not a component of our art; it is its source. This conviction is the core of what we want our art students to understand and embrace.

Creative Writing
Beyond simply encouraging literary potential as part of the English curriculum, we encourage additional creative writing with publishing opportunities in school publications, including, at the high school, a literary magazine each spring, featuring student poems and narratives. Like all students at Denver Christian, your child is encouraged to submit pieces for critique and possible awards and publication.
“The art program at Denver Christian Schools was an essential part of keeping me connected to my passion. It offers a great foundation that is really accessible to any student. Our high school teacher did a wonderful job of making many mediums and processes available for us to try. I also appreciated the level of independence
that she encouraged in the upper level studio classes—
it was a valuable opportunity to define our own goals and creations.”
