Denver Christian School provides opportunities for students to try new things that interest them through a variety of co-curricular clubs and activities. Some of these clubs meet before school, some are offered during the school day, and some meet after school. Clubs that meet before or after school may include additional costs.

Elementary School:

Denver Christian is thrilled to partner with Redemptive Dance Ministries to host dace classes on campus!

Redemptive Dance Ministries’ mission is to teach the art of dance for the purpose of glorifying God and spreading the gospel of Hope to the nations through movement. We believe that He is redeeming dance, taking it back from the world to restore it to its original design, the worship and praise of God with our whole selves.

Cost is $149. One time uniform cost is $39.99. If you already have the uniform, there is no need to purchase a second one.

Calling all budding Kings and Queens to one of Colorado’s premier chess programs! With new lessons for returning students, our creative curriculum brings humor, stories, and “chessercizes” to help students apply lessons on and off the board. Chess education has been shown to help kids improve logic, math, and reading comprehension skills. Students calculate options and evaluate consequences, learning to overcome obstacles and practice visualization techniques to think ahead. Whether playing in our scholastic tourneys or with family and friends, kids love learning with PALS because we make chess FUN!

New coders and returning coders are welcome back to Fall Game Coding Club.

We will carry on from where we left off in the GODOT engine last May, this year on bigger computers (27″ iMac desktop computers)!

If you haven’t coded in GODOT before, come join us, we will give you a “starter pack” game to get you up and running and customizing.

This session will concentrate more on customizing DIGITAL ART, level crafting, playtesting, and we might even try out some other game styles like top-down RPGs or game engines like Phaser JS.

More sessions, (but only on Tuesdays), fewer video lessons to try to race through, and time… lots of TIME, to just collaborate and craft games that are 100% unique to YOU.

$200 per student

Retired elementary art teacher Linda Holmes gives elementary students in grades K-5 the chance to explore different media and techniques outside the regular school art curriculum. The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:20 – 4:30 PM.

What is the Scholastic Fencing League?

Our mission is to introduce the Olympic sport of fencing to students in a safe and fun environment, while promoting the values of character, honor, integrity, strategy and athleticism.

2nd Grade and up

DON’T MISS OUT! Little Medical School is hosting a STEM-based Activity class at Denver Christian!

Little Doctor School will be held on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm – September 13th thru October 25^th (no class on 10/18), where children will learn about the heart, lungs, and digestion, dress up like doctors and go home with a real working stethoscope, lab coat, and much much more!

Class is open for kids in K-5!

VEX IQ brings a world-class STEM robotics experience and students will be building a versatile drive base that will be able to drive, pick up, and manipulate objects.

3rd- 5th Grade students will be led by DC STEM Teacher and they build and program their own VEX IQ Robots.

Mondays from 3:30-4:30pm. September 25-November 15th (8 week club)

Piano Club will run for six weeks on Monday afternoons! This club is for 1st-5th graders who want to learn the basics of playing the piano. These students will be able to read beginning sheet music, know the notes on the keyboard and play individually and together by the end of the six weeks. There will be a performance opportunity on the last day in the form of a mini-recital that family members are invited to attend. Join us to learn a new skill and make some beautiful music!

Denver Christian is excited to introduce The Colorado Club. The Colorado Club promotes the beautiful state we live in and all that it has to offer. These clubs will will be accessible for students and families in elementary through our high school unifying our campus and community. The Colorado Club will follow our trimester schedule. What is LandSharks Running Club?

We offer a non-competitive youth program to introduce running to young athletes in a safe and fun environment. The focus is on self-improvement, being an encouraging teammate, and making new friends. The Spring Track Series is a fun-based program led by Emily Zeimet and is open to students in kindergarten through 5th grade. A team shirt is required for all runners which can be used again for future seasons.

Each year the specials teachers select a theme week focus for the elementary classes. Classrooms and hallways are transformed in a week of focused fun and learning.

Middle School

All Middle School and High School students are welcome! Learn how to design, build, program and test robots! The club will attend different competitions too (pending club enrollment)

Introducing NEW Middle School Drumline!

By participating in drumline camp, Students will gain a fundamental understanding of how to play the drums and read music from scratch. How to develop a disciplined work ethic through patience and repetition using competitive strength building exercises and inner confidence training through a Christ centered education.

Students will be expected to behave as a student athlete and will conclude their time at drumline camp with a friends and family performance at the end of the month to showcase their learning abilities.

Students will only be required to bring a refillable water jug, drum sticks, and a practice pad.

Meets: Wednesdays, January 10 – February 28th from 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Min: 6 students

Orchestra Club is led by our band teacher, Aimee Delnero.

This is for any 5th-12th graders who have experience playing a string instrument.

Spring Session: Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15 from January 30- May 6th

Students will perform at a concert on May 6th.

Cost: $200

ALL DC students are welcome and encouraged to participate in any of the Athletic Performance options even if not playing sports.

Monday – Thursday 6:45am-7:45am. Starting Monday, August, 21st.

Offered for students 7th -12th grade. Led by Shane Miller.

If the athlete is playing a fall sport at DC, the Zero hour training fee is included in the sports fees.

If the athlete is NOT currently playing a fall sport, the athlete must pay the Zero hour fee of $185.

Mountain Biking

The Middle School Speech and Debate Club invites all students to join! This group encourages students to grow in their critical thinking skills and provides opportunities to gain confidence in their public speaking abilities (plus we have a lot of fun).

We attend five to six tournaments throughout the year and practice once a week. We can work around your athletic schedule if needed.

Middle school students can audition for and perform in dramatic and musical performances throughout the year.

Middle schoolers can participate in school-sponsored movie nights, pool and lake parties, ice skating, the 8th grade dance, and more.

High School

Join the DC Mountain Biking Team! We are a co-ed cross country (XC) racing program and compete in the Colorado High School Cycling League (coloradomtb.org). Whether you are brand new to mountain biking or a seasoned racer, we would love to have to hit the trails with us! Prepare to challenge your bike skills and fitness in a fun team environment. Our team aims to build Connection, Character and Challenge.

This is a fall season sport starting in August and running through October. Practice locations and times will vary but are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm at various Front Range trails. There are four league races that take place on alternating weekends in various mountain towns

The yearbook club works all year long to assemble the annual DC yearbook.

Students develop skills in public speaking and research and compete against other local high schools.

Students vote for representatives from each class to join Student Council each year. Student Council meets regularly to provide leadership for our High School student body.

Student Council is overseen by teachers, James Timmer and Leanne Bartz.
