Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission Statement

Denver Christian School inspires and equips children of Christian parents to engage the world with Christ’s transforming power and love.

This statement of Denver Christian’s mission emphasizes an important distinction in the educational choices that are available to parents as they select a school for their children. Denver Christian seeks to prepare students to be useful and effective in God’s kingdom. As we have received grace from Christ, we take up our task of communicating that grace and love to a broken world.

Our mission is more than a set of words; it is at the heart of everything we do to educate children everyday.

Our Educational Vision

Denver Christian School offers a distinctive and outstanding Christian education, preschool through 12th grade.

Although our school is interdenominational, with more than 100 churches represented, its educational program is based on the Reformed tradition of Christianity.  We believe in order for Christian education to be most effective, three basic agencies — the home, the school, and the church — must be united in their impact on the life of each child.  You will often hear this referred to as the “three-legged stool” approach to learning.  Everything we do is integrated to have one, united purpose: reaching the world with Christ’s transforming power and love.

Our Values Statement

We value Christ-centered education.  We believe that the world belongs to God, that all knowledge and truth come from Him, and that Jesus is Lord over all creation.  The curricula we teach and the learning opportunities we provide will ground students in God’s Word and prepare them to live lives of service in the world.

We value educational excellence.  We offer a preschool-12th grade liberal arts curriculum that focuses on the whole child as an intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical being.  Our teachers develop best practices in their classrooms and foster educational partnerships with the broader community that promote learning on a variety of levels. Administrators and support staff work to help create a safe, productive and dynamic learning environment where excellence is defined, measured and supported.

We value a school culture that reflects the kingdom of God.  Our students, staff, and educational partners have a variety of backgrounds, and all demonstrate a relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to live according to his Word.

We value community.  We create an atmosphere in which love for God and love for each other is evident. We model Christ in our interactions with one another by expressing acts and attitudes of prayer, encouragement, inclusion, humility, grace, discipline, accountability, empathy and care.

We value honesty and integrity.  We demonstrate the Gospel by acting fairly, transparently and responsibly, and by communicating openly and effectively.

We value stewardship of our resources.  We are committed to prudent management of current financial resources, and we are dedicated to developing new sources of income.

We value quality.  God calls us to high standards in all that we do. We strive to create an environment in which staff, students and families reach for their God-given potential and through which God is glorified.
