Mrs. Waanders has always loved books and libraries. As a child, she never missed a week of visiting the public library! Her passion and goal in the Pre K- 5th grade Library Information Center is to connect kids with books they want to read. She sees each grade level one time each week for library skills education, author studies and read-alouds. By collaborating with classroom teachers to teach 21st century literacy skills, administering reading incentive programs, building a diverse and relevant library collection, and hosting various events like Literacy Week, book fairs, and the Poetry Cafe, Mrs. Waanders encourages a life-long love of learning in each of her students.
