The quote from the musical Man of La Mancha, "Too much sanity may be madness - and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it ought to be!" -- is one of Nancy Waanders' favorites and touches on what she thinks is an essential goal of a Christian educator: to see life as it ought to be. For when we glimpse life as it ought to be, life as God intended it, we catch a vision of the kingdom of God and enter into his redemptive work in the world. It's that vision that is fuel for Nancy's passion in helping people connect word and (God's) Word to their lives. Recently, she was doing just that as a worship coordinator in a local church and previously as a teacher of literature and language arts at Littleton High School. Nancy is eager to begin the school year at Denver Christian Schools in her role as middle school and high school librarian, equipping students to construct meaning and discover purpose and working together with teachers, students, and parents in crafting "life as it ought to be". In other areas of life, Nancy is satisfied by tending her gardens and chickens, amused by the quirky questions her kids ask, motivated by great literature and the great outdoors, and challenged to beat her husband at pinball.
