About Denver Christian School

Denver Christian School is Born

Forty families came together in 1916 with the belief that meaningful and effective Christian education in children’s lives must involve consistent messaging between home, church, and school.  For greatest impact, every influence in a child’s life must communicate that we belong to God, are loved, are unique and have a purpose.  Today Denver Christian has more than 100 churches represented in its student body, but this approach to Christian education still holds true.

Mediocrity is not an Option

Colossians 3:23-24  “In whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Integrated Curriculum Explores God in All Things

11401032_10153351550577969_6248637620863224984_nBible is a distinct curricular component, and a Biblical worldview is explored in every subject.  Walk the halls and see the students’ exploration of God’s hand in math, science, biology, geography, art, music, computer science, chemistry, and English.  The Reformed perspective of Denver Christian School means every square inch of the creation is the Lord’s.  One cannot look at a subject without seeing God in it.  Denver Christian does not shy away from difficult current events but looks at them through the lens of God’s redeeming love.  By the time students leave Denver Christian, they have developed the ability to think critically about critical issues.

Relationship Matters

12106758_10153607460242969_4225042929323469971_nDenver Christian School understands that one of the most critical influences to a faith that will last a lifetime is the opportunity to have strong relationships with believing adults.  At Denver Christian, adults walk with students and before students, acknowledging the world’s pain, recognizing our own brokenness, and working to proclaim the salvation that God offers in Jesus Christ.  Students are mentored and learn to mentor others in faith families.  Parents support the efforts of the school, its teachers, staff, and administration.  We are a community and a family that is united under God for one purpose…. To bring God glory in all that we do.

Extra-Curricular Programs Open to All

DSC_1798Competitive sports programs 6th-12th grade offer students opportunities to grow in their athletic abilities. Individuals play and pray on sports teams.  Whether they have played club sports  since three-years-old or are just trying a sport for the first time in sixth-grade, Denver Christian School provides students with the opportunity to learn.  Denver Christian wins many state championships, but it teaches its students how to lose with grace and thanksgiving as well.  After school clubs encourage children to pursue their interests in different areas including drama, chess, Legos, guitar, art, and speech and debate.
